Investigation on a Shutdown Control Strategy with Residual Oxygen Rapid Elimination for Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell System

During the shutdown process of fuel cell system for vehicles, air entering anode chamber can form hydrogen/air interface, accelerating carbon corrosion catalytic layer. According to optimized control strategies, cells be reduced. Nowadays, main strategies include gas purging and consumption residual oxygen in stack by auxiliary load. However, cannot fully consumed or cause single-cell voltage rise 0.8 V with an inappropriate discharge current drop rate load resistance value, thus affecting protective effect strategy. In this work, a strategy is studied. After experiment, value were obtained. With 50 Ω 7 A/s, time 13.5 s above 0.82 0.1 s. Thus, reduce time.
